Dionaea muscipula are native mainly to the Carolina’s however they have also found their way into other southern parts of the east coast and the Florida Panhandle. Over the years collectors have propagated and registered genetically altered clones and cultivars which are highly sought after today. Some of these clones and cultivars feature strange, mutated traps or may be selected for their large trap size and exquisite coloration. 

Care Tips:

-Light:

Dionaea muscipula prefer full sun and can also be successfully grown indoors under intense LED lighting. 

-Watering:

Pure water is required to grow these plants successfully long term. It is recommended to keep TDS (total dissolved solid) levels below 50ppm.

-Substrates:

Nutrient deficient media (professional grade peat moss, sphagnum moss etc.)
